I want to feel inspired to start. Whether it’s a product I want to create or collaborate with a client, I want the middle and end to feel as exciting as the start.

I want people I know and interested in what I do, follow along. I don’t want to feel alone, create in doubt, hoping when it’s done people will like it enough to buy it. I want to know before I spend too much time on it.

I want a place that pushes me forward so I don’t get stuck. A place where sharing updates are easy so I don’t delay them by overthinking. I want the feedback to feel light. I want to be able to share ideas and have people help me decide.

I want to be able to show my services and products in one place. I want to see my creative identity in one place without the mess. I want the space to feel clean, minimal so I focus.

I want a place where I feel encouraged to start new things. I simply want creatives to start their own. So I made s.page

A collaborative space to start creative projects.

To show you how it works, I’m running a few projects there so you can join to help me shape what’s next. In a few weeks, everyone will have access to start their own.

Not much has changed in the creative services space since AI came along. In fact, at the forefront, nothing has changed. On the product side, we have MetaLab and BakkenBaek. On the cultural brands, we have Mouthwash and Porto Rocha. On the corporate side, we have Work&Co and Koto.

They offer the same services as before, and run the same process. Clients come with a brief, they pitch. A few months later, one gets picked. They start the work, 6-12 months later it goes live. Different parts are done by different agencies. Brand, product and marketing are usually all separated. Which you notice in the result. The website doesn’t live up to the promises of their brand decks. And the product is far from it.

This process doesn’t hold up for the future we are entering today. Let’s be honest, none of the things we see now, we could’ve guessed. And we certainly cannot guess what tomorrow holds when we still fail to comprehend today’s opportunities that were a dream a few months ago.

A strategy based on your past data wont be a good enough plan to make a brief on. Spending months discussing a plan that takes a few weeks to execute is an expired method to approach the expectation of this new future.

Welcome s.engineering
Where strategy is defined through execution.

Brands hire us to answer one question:
What’s next?

We execute many possible futures to find that answer. We do so to reduce the risk of spending 6-12 months building the wrong thing.

We offer one month execution at $100,000 to explore new products, services, experiences to define two valuable propositions. Choose one, and we spend the next 3 months making it real.

It can be that simple.

Catchup

It was fun to serve tech founders with OpenPurpose for a few years. Before that, I used to run another agency called 3drops. Back then, I only offered one service. Digitize complex processes for enterprises and governments.

I would enter organizations with executive access to execute their high stake projects within a quarter. I lead the digitalization of the global visa system for over 65 governments and launched the first mega app for one of Asia’s largest conglomerate, CP.

On the side, I launched ventures of my own, like Roadmap which quickly gained popularity among companies like Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, Asana and Redbull. Few of these companies loved it so much that they built their own and now almost all project management apps offer a little bit of Roadmap, called timeline.

With OP, the goal was to become a venture platform. A place where early stage investors, founders and creatives connect to build what’s next. And to do so, I had to lower the costs of making and help launch startups at scale. Within a few years, we grew to 80 people, running over 40 projects simultaneously without missing a beat. Working 4 days a week, 3 days off. Loved by founders of Nothing, Krea, Amie, Shop, Zora, and many others.

But by the time we were preparing to roll out our app and onboard creatives and founders at scale, another mission came along.

I agreed to join a $4B company to execute the holy grail of tech as an executive. The idea was to cut their headcount to half, and increase their product output by 10. To do so, I turned their traditional structure into a large startup studio. I moved my core team over to lead alongside me and paused OP.

The goal was to launch an all-in-one mega app for enterprises. From marketing to HR, Legal and finance. And by doing so, deliver incomparable insights to executives and staff with AI.

I spent 6 months executing and by the time I left, I realized OP is not the right framework to launch what I was aiming to build. So I shutdown OP, and spent the next year working with AI to understand the opportunities of the future.

Now that we’ve caught up, I’m relieved to say that I’m ready to roll out a few new things I’ve been working on. I’ll tell you all about them in my next posts.
